This 2-part course is intended as a practical, hands-on guide to introduce you to the field of sociology. Part 1 explores the development of sociology as a discipline. Learners will identify types of societies, social groups and elements of culture. Participants will also compare theories of deviance, social stratification and work toward recognizing elements of social inequality.
